Dental Exam and Checkup
How Important is Oral Hygiene
Oral hygiene is necessary for eliminating bacteria in the mouth that can lead to long-term ailments such as gingivitis, gum disease, and periodontal disease.
More importantly, more and more research has been linking oral hygiene to overall health in the last few years. A good dental care routine and regular checkups will keep your mouth healthy and prevent infection, decay, tooth loss, and may also play a role in avoiding heart disease and other infections in your body.

Why get a Dental Exam and Checkup?
Dental exams allow us the opportunity to evaluate your current hygiene habits and provide suggestions for ongoing care to protect you from complications such as cavities and gum disease. Additionally, exams allow us to detect problems early to be fixed quickly and without the need for invasive procedures.
How Often Should I Go For a Dental Exam and Checkup?
Dental exams should generally take place every six months. However, please consult with our team to decide how often you should be examined. We may suggest that you visit more frequently based on factors such as smoking, frequency of cavities, genetic susceptibility to tooth and root decay, and gum disease.

What Can I Expect From A Dental Exam and Checkup?
Our dental exams are simple and pain-free. We will be taking x-rays and checking all your teeth as we look for areas of decay and check to make sure that the bone around your teeth is healthy. Additionally, we will also be checking the health of your gums and conducting an oral cancer exam.
